SubmitJeff Whidden has been President of CR Minerals since 2014 when he joined the company. Jeff has over 20 years of engineering, consulting and business experience across various material industries. Prior roles have included senior management positions at major construction material companies as well as past positions in management and environmental consulting organizations. Together, this experience has formed a broad foundation for his leadership of CR Minerals into the future. Jeff has an MBA from Yale University as well as an MS (Earth Sciences) and BS (Geological Engineering) from the University of Waterloo in Canada. Jeff resides with his family in St Louis, MO.
Ed Dvorak joined CR Minerals after a diverse 30-year career as a ready-mix concrete, cement, and aggregate executive for an international construction materials company. As a graduate of the University of Denver as well as business programs at INSEAD, Paris, he brings unique skills to his role at CRM including extensive knowledge of operational and mining management, business and product development, as well as cementitious products. In his role, Ed’s primary responsibilities include oversight and optimization of current pumice production together with executing strategies for new channels related to natural pozzolans. Born and raised in the Southwest, Ed lives with his wife and has two grown children attending CU in Colorado.
Fred joined CR Minerals in 2005 and supports its products throughout the various industries with a focus on the paints and coatings industry. He has over 50 years of experience in the paint and coatings industry. He began his career with the Rohm and Haas Company where he worked for 10 years at their paint exposure station. After leaving Rohm and Haas, he worked for a number of eastern paint manufacturers in the Mid-Atlantic States and Florida. He has been active in various paint organizations since the late 1960’s and is a 30 year plus member of the American Chemical Society and ASTM. Fred resides with his family in Clearwater, FL.
Mark brings broad technical experience across a variety of industries to his new role. Most recently, Mark was with the Terra Firma Company as a Technical Sales Account Manager. Prior to that, Mark was with DrillChem in the oilfield services business and began his career in the pharmaceutical industry. Mark holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Texas State University. Mark resides in the Houston, TX area with his family
Tom comes to CR Minerals from GCP Applied Technologies (formerly Grace Construction Products) where he served as a Key Accounts Manager supplying chemical admixtures to the concrete construction industry. Tom has over 20 years of experience in the industry, having served in a variety of capacities with other companies including Lafarge Construction Materials and BASF Building Systems. Tom’s vast knowledge of the industry will be an asset to our customers and integral to CR Minerals growth in the construction market. Tom holds a B.S. in Marketing from Kansas State University. Tom resides in the metro Denver, CO area with his family.
New Mexico Joe joined CR Mineralsin 2002 responsible for plant maintenance at the former plant in Santa Fe, New Mexico.After 10 years at CR Minerals, Joe became involved in the construction and operation of the current plant in Espanola where he serves as Plant Manager. Joe brings 20+ years of experience specific to production, drying, and screening multiple grades of pumice from 2 inches down to 3 microns.Joe also has expertise in pumice mine mgmt., reclamation, packaging, transportation, and distribution. Joe resideswith his family in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
CO. Shane joined CR Minerals in 2017focused on the production of remediated fly ash and natural pozzolans.Shane brings a wealth of experience from the cement industry and minerals processing industry that will be leveraged to drive success at the Colorado operation.Most recently, Shane has been the Production and Logistics Manager for LafargeHolcim’s cement plant in Florence, CO.Prior to that, Shane was a Plant Manager for Imerys in Quincy, WA at their diatomaceous earth processing plant and quarry.Other positions Shane has held include over a decade of roles at Holcim that spanned EHS Manager to Maintenance Manager at different Holcim locations across the US.Shane resides in Pueblo, Coloradowith his family.
Blakejoined CR Minerals in 2021asDirector of Finance.Blake comes to us from BDO USA, LLP where he most recently served as aSenior Manager of their Transaction Advisory Services Group which focused on financial duediligence.BDO USA is an accounting firm where Blake has worked for 10 years beginning hiscareer in the Audit and Assurance Services group.Blake’s financial and accounting knowledgewill help propel CR Minerals into a more professional organization as we continue our growthand expansion.Blake holds a BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) in Entrepreneurshipfrom the University of North Texas and is a CPA (Certified Public Accountant) licensed in thestateofTexas.Blake resides in the Dallas Forth Worth metroplex with hisfamily.

2020 CR Minerals announcesexpansion of the Pueblo, CO Facility to increase production capacity
From our high purity pumice deposit and modern processing facility, we produce SafSil® (amorphous silica), Navajo Brand (pumice), PFM (Pumice Filtration Media)®, and Mine (pumice) products that are superior performance minerals serving a wide range of applications. Our products are used in applications including abrasives, fillers, cleaners, paints, coatings, metal finishing, silicone rubber, plastics, water treatment, and construction materials. In addition, pumice is a preferred lightweight aggregate used in manufactured stone veneer and concrete block. CR Minerals has been in business since 1948 and with our high quality pumice deposit and new processing plant, our products will continue to lead the market for decades to come.
The Company started operation in 1948 with a production facility in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
Purchased Rocky Mountain Mine in 1997.
In 1999, CR Minerals Company, LLC was acquired by IMin Partners, a private equity capital fund dedicated to investing in specialty minerals and chemical businesses.
In 2006, a new state-of-the-art processing plant located in Ohkay Owingeh, NM was commissioned, replacing the Santa Fe facility.
